No Title Blog post

I decided to write a blog post today. Clicked on the new blog post link and for a moment I was thinking on what the title should be. I then decided to concentrate less on the title and more on the post. This post is about what happened to me on 29-Sep-2011.

6:45 a.m: Quick wake up! A lady shouted and shaking me violently.  I woke up to find my wife waking me up. Before I could open my mouth she said that my sister has met with an accident. I jumped out of bed grabbed my wallet and rushed to the Government hospital in an auto. The auto had just entered the hospital premises and it started raining. As I entered the emergency room I could see my one and a half year old niece bleeding from the mouth and both my brother-in-law and sister unconscious. That particular moment I felt a pain in my heart which numbed my senses and my feelings, but I had to do something and the doctors in the GH did not start the treatment and where waiting for the Police to come. We blasted the docs and picked my sister and her husband put them in the car and rushed them to the Greams road Apollo Hospital.

The nurses and paramedical people rushed and took them in and within next few seconds the treatment started. My sister, brother-in-law and my niece all were given first aid. Next the doctors did everything they could do to get them out of danger and bring them to a stable condition. A series of blood test, X-rays and scans followed. A pediatrician rushed in and examined my niece. My mother and uncle took her to children's hospital couple of blocks away were she got two stitches in the inner lips.

As my sister and my brother-in-law did not wear helmets there was a better chance of a head injury and hence CT scan was done. Once the CT scan results came it was determined that my sister was completely fine. All her vitals seemed really good and he has not had any internal injury. The external injury was also very minimal. To our surprise this was not the case with my brother-in-law. Due to the impact of the accident he had got a blood clot of 1.5cm circumference on the outer brain. The doctor said this was not serious and 98% of the patients recover without any surgery. However he needs to be kept under strict medical observation.

The good news is, he is recovering now as I write this blog post and after a while as Diwali approaches life is returning to normal and happiness is coming back into our lives. After all it is Diwali season and Good triumphs over Evil.

God be with all of us and please wear your helmets and be safe, coz your family needs you.

I started this blog post on 29-Sep but completed it on 9-Oct.
