Creating a perfect business Blog

Blogs are one of the revolutionary inventions in the digital world. Since the introduction of blogs there has been lots of blogging tools like Blogger and Wordpress, which enable user to publish their contents easily. These blogging tools have given the power of blogging to an average individual. Since then the number of blogs have increased. Almost everyone has a blog or had a blog in the past. Even companies have a blog these days, as it has become a basic necessity in today's digital world. However, an average reader spends very little time on a blog. A novice might ask, if an average reader spends very little time on a blog, what is the use of banging our head and writing articles for our blog. Well to answer in a single sentence, one can say making a visitor of your blog, turn into a reader is an art. This art cannot be mastered or acquired over night. It is a slow and a steady process and if somethings are done in the right way, your blog will slowly get a long list of loyal followers.

Blogging on a regular basis

An average blog, should get a regular supply of posts. Most companies or individuals do not blog on a regular basis. They post only when there is any news to be disclosed or if there is something happening. This practice is certainly not best for your blog. Every blog, be it a business blog or a personal blog, should be updated with articles on a daily basis. This shows that the blog is active and will get good visibility in search engine results and will in turn increase the blog traffic.

Read a lot

A blogger should read a lot with regards to the topic he or she writes about. This will ensure that your blog visitor will get the best information and this will also ensure that they will recommend your blog to others too. If you feel that it is out of your reach to read a lot of stuff related to your topic, then you should hire a professional blogger, who in turn will do the job for you. As a blogger, I personally read a lot of stuff. I read before going to the bed. I read after I get up in the morning. I also read when I am at office. This ensures as a blogger I stay well informed in my field and give good stuff to read for my readers. This also provides you a lot of inspiration and different angles to think and write about.

Network a lot

I was reading a blog recently and the writer their mentioned that to make blog famous and to attract a lot of readers or visitors you need to network your ass off. If you leave the A word and look at the hidden meaning, it means that you should spread the word about your blog, because if people do not know about your blog, they will not be visiting your blog. You can print your blog URL on your business card. You can also include a link to your blog in your email signature. Visit other famous bloggers and comment on their blogs. This will make sure that people to notice you and might visit your blog.

Maintain a constant appearance and writing style

Every morning when we open the day's newspaper we find the the images and the topics exactly at the same place and position. The business news, local news, celerity photos, they are all published in the same place day after day. If you visit any professionally maintained blog, you might have noticed that there blog always has a uniform look. Implement the same in your blog too. Do not confuse your readers. Maintain a uniform style in both your writing and also they way you publish your blog. This will ensure that your readers do not get confused and know where to find the information that they need.

Ignore Criticism

Blogging is about writing or publishing your views over the internet. So when you publish your views you are bound to attract some bad or discouraging reviews or comments. On an average only 5% of the readers come into this category, hence you need not worry about them and just ignore their comments or try to to take them in a good spirit.

Set Targets

Every blog should have targets set. If a blogger wants his or her blog popularity and readership to grow, then, her or she needs to set targets for the same. The targets can be numbers of RSS subscribers, number of posts, number of unique visits, email subscribers and so on. They can be put in a nice little spreadsheet and can be updated on a regular basis. I know you probably think that because we are a business we need to do that but I have always done the same on personal blogs as it’s a great way of looking at the bigger picture. I know some people have personal blogs and couldn’t care less about traffic or hitting targets but if you want to grow your blog get in to the habit of setting yourself targets. Where do you want to be by next monsoon? Could you double the size of your blog by this time next year? Think long term rather than short term.
